FOOD AND ACCOMODATIONS
We have found that it takes $30 a day per team member. In addition, hotel rooms are $55 and up to four people can be in one room. The per diam is used for travel expenses, food and accommodations, purified water, hired help, translators and the extra electricity that is used.
The Kuneys host their teams and most meals will be in their home. We enjoy the fellowship and hope you enjoy the fellowship and food as well. Your bedrooms will be air-conditioned. Towels and sheets are provided. It is important to remember that you can't drink the water out of the faucet. Purified water will be provided. Try also to not use electricity more than necessary as utility bills in Honduras are higher than the states.
A deposit of the per diam for the team should be deposited two weeks prior to the team arrival date. The deposit needs to be made either to Baptist Chapel or directly to an Arvest Bank account in Tulsa, OK. Please do not send it to Bridge the Gap as 10% is taken out of those deposits.
TOURS
If desired there are several options for a break in the work to tour part of Honduras. About an hour-and-a-half away is the ocean. For $15 you can enjoy a beach and lunch.
There is also the Mayan ruins in Copan. This is a three hour (one way) trip to Copan, near the Guatemalan border. These ruins are an international site. Usually a bus is hired.
The cost is about $20-$25 per person, depending on the size of the team.
