About us

Serving Christ and Transforming Lives in Honduras Since 1999

Founded by Gary and Cheryl Kuney, Gathering Hearts for Honduras is dedicated to sharing the Gospel and meeting the practical needs of communities in Honduras. Through education, healthcare, and spiritual outreach, we are building a brighter future for those facing great challenges.

Our Mission

At Gathering Hearts for Honduras, we follow Jesus’ call to serve others with love and compassion. Since our founding in 1999, our mission has been to share the hope of the Gospel while addressing critical needs such as education, healthcare, and vocational training. We are committed to empowering individuals and transforming communities by meeting both spiritual and practical needs.

Our Founders

Gary and Cheryl Kuney answered God’s call to serve in Honduras over two decades ago. With a deep love for Christ and a passion for helping others, they established Gathering Hearts to bring hope to those in need. Their vision has grown into a ministry that impacts hundreds of lives each year through outreach programs and partnerships with local communities.

Why Honduras?

Honduras faces significant challenges, including widespread poverty, limited access to healthcare, and a lack of educational opportunities. Despite these struggles, the people of Honduras possess incredible strength and resilience. We believe that by meeting these needs and sharing the message of Christ, we can make a lasting impact and help individuals thrive.

What We Do

Gathering Hearts offers a wide range of programs to address the needs of the communities we serve:

  • Education initiatives for children, youth, and adults.
  • Medical and dental clinics providing essential care.
  • Feeding programs to combat food insecurity.
  • Women’s ministry offering vocational training and support.
  • Evangelism and discipleship to grow in faith and community.

Whether through prayer, financial support, or volunteer work, you can play a vital role in transforming lives in Honduras. Together, we can be the hands and feet of Jesus, bringing hope and healing to those who need it most.
